Japan Nature Journeys · Awaji — the first collection

The Japan
you haven't seen.

It begins on Awaji — the mythical first island of Japan, and one of its last quiet coasts. Private nature journeys, an hour from Kobe.

In the old chronicles, Awaji was the first island ever made. Today it stays much as it was — sea, forest, salt and fire — waiting for travellers who want the real Japan, before the crowds.

Good to know

Questions, answered.

Where is Awaji Island, and how do I reach it?

Awaji lies at the heart of the Seto Inland Sea, linked to Kobe by the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge — about an hour by road from Kobe and roughly 90 minutes from Osaka (Kansai) International Airport. We arrange all transfers as part of your journey.

Who are your journeys designed for?

Private travellers and families, overseas travel agencies and trade partners, and companies planning retreats or incentives. Every journey is private and tailor-made.

Are the journeys private and bespoke?

Yes. We design each itinerary around you — your pace, interests and dates — with local guides and hand-picked stays. Nothing is off-the-shelf.

When is the best time to visit?

Awaji is beautiful year-round — spring flower fields, calm summer seas, clear autumn light and mild winters. We will suggest the best season for what you would like to experience.

What language do you operate in?

We work in English throughout, from planning to guiding. Other languages can be arranged on request.

How much does a journey cost?

Because every journey is tailor-made, pricing depends on your itinerary, group and season. Tell us what you have in mind and we will send a clear proposal, with no obligation.

How do I start planning?

Send us an enquiry with your dates and what draws you. We reply personally with ideas and a proposal; once you are happy, we handle everything on the ground.
